Terra Preta Farm

Terra Preta Farm is a 20-acre certified organic urban farm in Edinburg TX. Juan and Shakera Raygoza started farming in 2009 to provide fresh clean produce to their family. The family garden grew into a farm and the Raygoza began selling organic produce at McAllen Farmers Markets and a CSA Program. They have been supplying the RGV with fresh-local-organic produce for over 10 years and now offer select products to wholesale markets in Austin and Houston.

Terra Preta Farm sees the soil as the key to successful organic farming. The soil is a whole universe below us where amazing things happen that can’t be replicated in even the most complex laboratory. We believe that Healthy Soils = Healthy Plants = Healthy People.

At Terra Preta Farm we work on bringing life to our soils by  adding compost, cover crops mulch, compost teas, humates  and over 70 mineral nutrients to compensate what’s been lost throughout the years and to produce food not only free of chemical pesticides and fertilizers but nutritionally
