improving the quality of life
for our community

by reconnecting people to the land and local food system.

Our story

We are the
Sentli Center

“Sentli,” derived from the indigenous Nahuatl language, translates to ear-of-corn and signifies prosperity and fertility.

“Sentli is a non profit organization whose mission is to reconnect  people to the land and local food system.

Sentli’s vision is to regenerate a thriving local food system where farmers grow in harmony with nature and community members work side by side to nourish mind, body, and soul. We strive to increase the accessibility and affordability of nutrient-dense sustainably grown food for our communities and ensure the viability of our family farms.  We accomplish this through education, regeneration, food policy,  and research.

Nourishment

We strive to increase the accessibility and affordability of nutrient-dense sustainably grown food.

Education

Sentli also offers educational opportunities through farm visits and tours, from pre-preschool students to members of the retired community.

Community

We are creating a thriving local food system, where farmers can collectively offer their nutrient dense foods to all members of the RGV.

Together we are building a sustainable future

We strive to increase the accessibility and affordability of nutrient-dense sustainably grown food for communities in the RGV through education, food policy, conservation, sustainability, and research.
